
Strive Scholarship
Strive MN seeks to create, contribute to, and address problems in living. We hope to promote social justice and social change with and on behalf of community members. Our organization engages in various methodology such as provision of direct practice, community organizing, supervision, consultation, advocacy, and education.
Our commitment goes beyond providing direct services; we strive to foster lasting empowerment within our community. Through our scholarship initiative, we aim to cultivate self-reliance and resilience by supporting individuals in pursuing educational opportunities that align with their aspirations and ambitions.

By investing in their academic and personal growth, we seek to equip recipients with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to address their own needs and navigate life's challenges effectively. This scholarship not only provides financial assistance but also serves as a catalyst for individuals to realize their potential and become agents of positive change within their communities.
Through this initiative, we aspire to create a ripple effect of empowerment, where each recipient's journey towards self-sufficiency contributes to the collective strength and well-being of our society. Strive MN is proud to present the Strive Scholarship for outstanding high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional students with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential in college and future
$1,000.00 scholarship fund.
The award may be used toward tuition, fees, books, and/or course supplies.
Access to internship opportunities with Strive MN.
Strive MN processes scholarship payments in August. A check is mailed to each recipient’s home address and is made payable to the school for the student.
Award
To apply, applicant must be:
A high school graduating senior.
Resident of Minnesota.
Minimum of 3.0 GPA (weighted).
Demonstrate financial need – reference the financial need section in the application.
Enrolled in upcoming academic year at an accredited, 4-year (public or private) institute.
Basic Eligibility
Deadline: May 17, 2024.
Applications are not being accepted at this time. All applicants will be notified by July 2024.
Application Process
Applicants must complete the application and email it along with the required documents listed below. Applicants will receive acknowledgment of receipt of their application.
Once all applications are received, our team will begin the review process. All applicants will be notified by July 2024 of selection status. Our team will contact the selected applicant that will be awarded the Strive Scholarship.
Application Package
As part of your application, the following must be included:
An official or unofficial transcript. The transcript must display the student's name, school, grades, and credit for each course and the terms in which each course was taken.
Proof of Acceptance/Enrollment to an accredited, 4-year (public or private) institute.
Copy of parent’s previous year’s IRS Form 1040.
Essay.
2 Letters of recommendation. At least 1 must be completed by a school counselor or administrator.
Your application is only complete if all required materials are submitted electronically. Email the completed application along with the required documents to pthao@strivemn.org by May 17, 2024, 11:59 PM. In the subject line, include the applicant's full name and date of birth, ie. “John Smith, 03/03/2000”.
